Elgin National Watch Co. was in operation from 1864-1968 and was an American pocket watch manufacturer. Manufacturing of Elgin watches took place at their facility in Elgin, Illinois.

This Elgin timepiece, crafted in Elgin, Illinois, was finished in 1911. Its driven by Elgin's proprietary 17-jewel Grade 347 movement, which was only manufactured between 1906 to 1917 with just 20,000 produced. The movement boasts a beautiful ratchet and crown wheel decorations, an intricate balance pattern, and striped damaskeening. The movement has been custom-refinished with blue accents achieved through the thermal treatment of each movement part by hand. The original blue steel hands remain unrestored in their manufactured condition. The jewel settings are raised and have been restored to their original golden color. The enamel lettering was refinished in blue to match the movement accents. The porcelain-enamel Elgin dial is in good condition and in the fancy style. The dial does have a small hairline that runs from the 56 mark on the subdial to the 10 o’clock mark. The dial is otherwise in excellent condition void of chips or cracks.

This timepiece is cased in a newly designed silver-colored wristwatch conversion case, ensuring comfortable wear with adjustable lugs for easy winding and setting while also providing a more tailored fit for wrists of various sizes. The case, equipped with front, back, and crown gaskets, offers water resistance up to 50 meters, although it is advisable to remove the watch before engaging in water activities. Having undergone thorough servicing, this timepiece is ready for your upcoming adventures.
