The Ball Watch Company was founded by Webb C. Ball, who established the specifications for railroad grade movements. The Ball Watch Company purchased movements from top pocket watch brands and further worked on the watches to perfect them.
This Ball-Waltham timepiece was manufactured in partnership with the renowned Waltham Watch Company and completed in 1903. This exceptional watch is powered by a uniquely configured 16-jewel movement, a rare overhaul of a Waltham movement perfected by the Ball Watch Company. With only a few thousand produced in this configuration, it stands as a highly sought-after collector’s item. The movement is in exceptional condition, meticulously restored, and custom refinished with striking blue accents. These accents, achieved through the delicate art of hand thermal treatment, impart a stunning blue hue to the iron-based components, enhancing the movement’s visual appeal. The watch hands have also been restored using the same thermal treatment process, preserving their original charm while adding a touch of refined craftsmanship. The Ball dial, made of flawless porcelain enamel, is in perfect condition, free of any chips or cracks.
The timepiece is encased in a newly designed 316L stainless steel wristwatch conversion case to provide comfortable wear for people who prefer a smaller wrist profile. The case is equipped with gaskets and offers water resistance up to 10 meters, although it is advisable to remove the watch before engaging in water activities. Having undergone thorough servicing, this timepiece is ready for your upcoming adventures. Because of our dedication to preserving history, the original pocket watch case will be included as well.
