Elgin National Watch Co. was in operation from 1864-1968 and was an American pocket watch manufacturer. Manufacturing of Elgin watches took place at their facility in Elgin, Illinois.
This Elgin timepiece was crafted in Elgin, Illinois, and completed in 1911. It is powered by Elgin’s in-house 15-jewel Grade 354 movement, which was produced from 1907 to 1917. The movement features 15 jewels, elegantly decorated ratchet and crown wheels, an intricate balance pattern, and beautiful damaskeening. The movement has been restored and custom refinished with striking blue accents, achieved by hand-treating each component to thermally color the iron-based parts. The hands remain in their original golden hue, while the brass jewel settings have been restored to their original gold color, and the black enamel lettering has been meticulously restored by hand. The porcelain-enamel Elgin dial is in flawless condition, featuring refined blue Roman numerals. The flawless dial and the golden hands create an exquisite contrast with the blue numerals.
This timepieces features a newly designed 36 mm 316L stainless steel wristwatch conversion case ensuring comfortable wear for people that prefer a smaller profile. The case, equipped with gaskets, offers water resistance up to 10 meters, although it is advisable to remove the watch before engaging in water activities. Having undergone thorough servicing, this timepiece is ready for your upcoming adventures.
