The Burlington Watch Co. was a subsidiary of the Illinois Watch Co., which was in operation from 1869-1948 and produced some of the best railroad-grade movements ever manufactured. Burlington watches were produced by Illinois in their factory in Springfield, Illinois and the company was headquartered in Chicago, Illinois.
This Burlington pocket watch conversion was manufactured in Springfield, Illinois, and was finished in 1917. The watch is powered by a high end 21 jewel movement, which was produced between 1913-1929. The movement is in excellent condition and has been custom refinished with vibrant blue accents. The accents were created through thermally treating each movement part by hand to color the iron based components. The hands of the watch have been restored as well using the same thermal treatment process. The jewel casings have been restored to their original bright, golden color, and the plates of the watch have been completely restored to their original silver color. The Burlington dial is porcelain-enamel and in near flawless condition with elegant Arabic numerals. The watch is cased in a silver wrist watch conversion case so the timepiece can be enjoyed on the wrist. The watch comes fully serviced and ready for your next adventure. Because of our dedication to preserving history, the original case will be included as well.
