Elgin National Watch Co. was in operation from 1864-1968 and was an American pocket watch manufacturer. Manufacturing of Elgin watches took place at their facility in Elgin, Illinois.
This Elgin pocket watch was manufactured in Elgin, Illinois, and was finished in 1998. The watch is powered by Elgin’s in-house 23 jewel Grade 190 movement, which was produced between 1898-1912 with only 4,000 ever manufactured. This means the timepiece was manufactured in the maiden year of production. The movement features 23 jewels, a decorated balance cap jewel, and a jeweled motor barrel. The movement has been restored and custom refinished with blue accents. The accents were created by thermally treating each movement part by hand to color the iron based components. The jewel settings are raised and are 14 karat gold and the black, enamel letting was restored by hand. The Elgin dial is porcelain-enamel and in flawless condition. The dial has a double sunk motif and has clean, crisp, and well proportioned indices. The watch is cased in a new silver-colored wrist watch conversion case so the watch can be enjoyed on your wrist. The watch comes fully serviced and ready for your next adventure.
