The Ball Watch Company was founded by Webb C. Ball, who established the specifications for railroad grade movements. The Ball Watch Company purchased movements from top pocket watch brands and further worked on the watches to perfect them.
This Ball-Illinois watch was manufactured in partnership with the Illinois Watch Company and was finished in 1926. It is powered by the Commercial Standard movement, which is an overhauled Illinois movement perfected by the Ball Watch Company. The movement is in exceptional condition, has been restored, and also has been custom refinished with blue accents. The accents were created by thermally treating each movement part by hand to color the iron based components. The hands of the watch have not been restored and are in their original gold color. The Ball dial is in excellent condition, void of any chips or cracks, and has an incredible textured guilloche motif at the center of the dial. The watch is cased in a new silver-colored wrist watch conversion case so the watch can be enjoyed on your wrist. This case is designed with adjustable lugs making the watch easy to wind and set. The adjustable lugs also permit a more custom fit for different wrist sizes. The watch comes fully serviced and ready for your next adventure. Because of our dedication to preserving history, the original 14 karat gold filled ‘Ball Model’ pocket watch case will be included as well.
