The Ball Watch Company was founded by Webb C. Ball, who established the specifications for railroad grade movements. The Ball Watch Company purchased movements from top pocket watch brands and further worked on the watches to perfect them.

This Ball-Illinois watch was manufactured in partnership with the Illinois Watch Company and was finished in 1926. It is powered by the Commercial Standard movement, which is an overhauled Illinois movement perfected by the Ball Watch Company. The movement is in exceptional condition, has been restored, and also has been custom refinished with blue accents. The accents were created by thermally treating each movement part by hand to color the iron based components. The hands of the watch have not been restored and are in their original gold color. The Ball dial is in excellent condition, void of any chips or cracks, and has an incredible textured guilloche motif at the center of the dial.

The timepiece is housed in a new 316L stainless steel wristwatch conversion case designed with adjustable lugs for ease in winding and setting and to allow for a more tailored fit across various wrist sizes. The case, featuring front, back, and crown gaskets, provides water resistance up to 50 meters, although it is advisable to remove the watch before engaging in water activities. The watch is fully serviced and ready for your upcoming adventures. Because of our dedication to preserving history, the original 14 karat gold filled ‘Ball Model’ case will be included as well.
