The Ball Watch Company was founded by Webb C. Ball, who established the specifications for railroad grade movements. The Ball Watch Company purchased movements from top pocket watch brands and further worked on the watches to perfect them.
This Ball-Waltham watch was manufactured in partnership with the Waltham Watch Company and was finished in 1910. This model was only produced between 1910-1911 with a mere 2,000 manufactured. This example was from the first run in 1910, where 1,000 were produced. The timepiece is powered by the Commercial Standard grade movement, which is an overhauled Waltham movement perfected by the Ball Watch Company. The movement is in exceptional condition, has been restored, and also has been custom refinished with blue accents. The accents were created by thermally treating each movement part by hand to color the iron based components. The hands of the watch have been restored to their original steel blue color using the same thermal treatment process. The Ball dial is in excellent condition, void of any chips or cracks, and has an incredible circular pattern on the edge. The numerals are bold and elegant and the subidal has bold circular indicators every ten seconds.
The timepiece is encased in a newly designed silver-colored wristwatch conversion case to ensures comfortable wear with adjustable lugs for easy winding and setting, providing a more tailored fit for wrists of various sizes. The case is equipped with front, back, and crown gaskets and offers water resistance up to 50 meters, although it is advisable to remove the watch before engaging in water activities. Having undergone thorough servicing, this timepiece is ready for your upcoming adventures.
