Elgin National Watch Co. was in operation from 1864-1968 and was an American pocket watch manufacturer. Manufacturing of Elgin watches took place at their facility in Elgin, Illinois.
This Elgin timepiece was manufactured in Elgin, Illinois, and completed in 1913. It is powered by Elgin’s proprietary 19-jewel Grade 193 B.W. Raymond movement, a rare model produced between 1898 and 1914, with only a few thousand of this variant ever made. The movement features 19 jewels, a jeweled safety barrel, and 14-karat gold jewel settings. The components have been meticulously refinished with elegant blue accents on the screws and hardware, achieved through precise hand-thermal treatment using traditional watchmaking techniques. The watch hands received the same careful restoration. The Elgin dial is porcelain enamel and in a classic double-sunk style. The Roman numerals are timeless, capturing the quintessential elegance of an early 1900s American made pocket watch. The heat-blued hands provide exceptional contrast against the dial, creating a visual delight with every glance at the time.
The timepiece is encased in a 316L stainless steel wristwatch conversion case, designed with adjustable lugs for easy winding and setting, ensuring a comfortable fit across various wrist sizes. The case includes front, back, and crown gaskets, providing water resistance up to 50 meters, though it is recommended to remove the watch before engaging in water activities. The timepiece comes fully serviced and ready for your next adventure.
