Elgin National Watch Co. was in operation from 1864-1968 and was an American pocket watch manufacturer. Manufacturing of Elgin watches took place at their facility in Elgin, Illinois.
This Elgin timepiece was manufactured in Elgin, Illinois, and finished in 1899. It is powered by Elgin's highest grade 12s movement, grade 194, an ultra-limited production model with only a few thousand units produced between 1898 and 1906. The movement boasts 23 jewels, an intricate balance design, 14-karat gold jewel settings, and a gilt-finished balance cap jewel. The movement components have been refinisehd with stylish blue accents on the screws and hardware through precise hand-thermal treatment using traditional watchmaking techniques. The watch hands remain in their original heat plum color—an ultra-rare design feature for Elgin—and are unrestored. The Elgin dial is porcelain-enamel in the fancy style and in near-flawless condition. The center of the dial displays a refined pink hue with golden motifs around the Roman numerals. The plum-colored hands complement the dial beautifully, highlighting both the pink and golden details.
The timepiece is encased in a 316L stainless steel pocket watch conversion case, designed with adjustable lugs for easy winding and setting, ensuring a comfortable fit across various wrist sizes. The case includes front, back, and crown gaskets, providing water resistance up to 50 meters, though it is recommended to remove the watch before engaging in water activities. The timepiece comes fully serviced and ready for your future adventures.
