Elgin National Watch Co. was in operation from 1864-1968 and was an American pocket watch manufacturer. Manufacturing of Elgin watches took place at their facility in Elgin, Illinois.
This Elgin timepiece was crafted in Elgin, Illinois, and dates to 1904. It is powered by Elgin’s in-house 17-jewel Grade 263 movement, which was produced from 1901 to 1912. The movement features 17 jewels, decorated ratchet and crown wheels, an intricate balance pattern, and beautiful damaskeening. The movement has been restored and custom refinished with striking blue accents, achieved by thermally coloring movement components by hand. The Louis XIV fancy hands have not been restored and are in their original golden color. The porcelain-enamel Elgin dial is in near flawless condition, featuring refined Roman numerals. The dial’s pristine white surface and golden hands provide a striking contrast with the numerals.
This timepiece is cased in a 36 mm 316L stainless steel conversion case, ensuring comfortable wear for those who prefer a smaller profile. The case, equipped with gaskets, offers water resistance up to 10 meters, although it is advisable to remove the watch before engaging in water activities. The timepiece comes fully serviced and ready for your next adventure.
