Elgin National Watch Co. was in operation from 1864-1968 and was an American pocket watch manufacturer. Manufacturing of Elgin watches took place at their facility in Elgin, Illinois.
This Elgin timepiece was manufactured in Elgin, Illinois, and was finished in 1905. It is driven by Elgin's proprietary 17-jewel Grade 322 movement, a flagship model produced by Elgin for a few short years between 1904 to 1906. The movement boasts 17 jewels, intricately adorned ratchet and crown wheels, and exquisite damaskeening. The movement has been meticulously restored and custom-refinished with distinctive blue accents. These accents were achieved by manually thermally treating each movement part, imparting a blue hue to the iron-based components. The heat blued hands underwent restoration and thermal coloring as well, while the brass jewel settings have been cleaned to reveal their original golden sheen.
The Elgin dial, featuring elegant Arabic numerals, is made of porcelain-enamel and is in flawless condition. The timepiece is housed in a 316L stainless steel wristwatch conversion case featuring adjustable lugs for comfortable wear, while allowing easy winding and setting. The case, featuring front, back, and crown gaskets, provides water resistance up to 50 meters, although it is advisable to remove the watch before engaging in water activities. Having undergone a comprehensive servicing, this timepiece is poised for your upcoming adventures.
