Elgin from 1921 with a Military Dial

Elgin National Watch Co. was in operation from 1864-1968 and was an American pocket watch manufacturer. Manufacturing of Elgin watches took place at their facility in Elgin, Illinois.

This Elgin pocket watch was manufactured in Elgin, Illinois, and was finished in 1921. The watch is powered by Elgin’s in-house 17 jewel Grade 387 movement, which is Elgin’s flagship 17 jewel movement produced from 1911-1946. The movement has been restored and custom refinished with blue accents. The accents were created by thermally treating each movement part by hand to color the iron based components, and the hands of the watch have been restored using the same thermal treatment process. The Elgin dial is porcelain-enamel, in excellent condition, and is a military dial. Originally, the dial was finished with radium lume for readability in low light conditions. This radioactive hazard was removed so the watch can be safely enjoyed. The watch is cased in a case with a see-through caseback so the inner workings of the watch are always on display. The watch comes fully serviced and ready for your next adventure.
