Elgin National Watch Co. was in operation from 1864-1968 and was an American pocket watch manufacturer. Manufacturing of Elgin watches took place at their facility in Elgin, Illinois.
This Elgin timepiece was manufactured in Elgin, Illinois, and was finished in 1910. It is driven by Elgin's proprietary 17-jewel GM Wheeler movement, a high end model produced by Elgin from 1906 to 1917. The movement boasts 17 jewels, intricately adorned ratchet and crown wheels, and striped damaskeening. The movement has been restored and custom-refinished with blue accents. These accents were achieved by thermally heating each movement part, imparting a blue hue to the iron-based components. The blue color of the hands were obtained using the same process, while the jewel settings have been cleaned to reveal their original golden shine.
The Elgin dial, fashioned in the Masonic style, is made of metal and is in excellent condition. The watch is cased in a 316L stainless steel conversion case with adjustable lugs for easy winding and setting, catering to various wrist sizes for a more personalized fit. Having undergone a comprehensive servicing, this timepiece is ready for your upcoming adventures.
