Elgin Grade 302 with a Fancy Dial from 1905

Elgin National Watch Co. was in operation from 1864-1968 and was an American pocket watch manufacturer. Manufacturing of Elgin watches took place at their facility in Elgin, Illinois.

This Elgin timepiece was manufactured in Elgin, Illinois, and was finished in 1905. The watch is powered by Elgin’s in-house 15 jewel Grade 302 movement, which was one of Elgin’s hunter movements produced between 1904-1906. The movement features 15 jewels, brass jewel settings, and beautiful damaskeening. The movement has been restored and custom refinished with blue accents. The accents were created by thermally treating each movement part by hand to color the iron based components. The hands of the watch have also been restored using the same thermal treatment process. The Elgin dial is a porcelain-enamel and in flawless condition. The dial is in the fancy style with elegant golden motifs surrounding the dial. The watch is cased in a new silver-colored wrist watch conversion case so the watch can be enjoyed on your wrist. The watch comes fully serviced and ready for your next adventure.
