Elgin National Watch Co. was in operation from 1864-1968 and was an American pocket watch manufacturer. Manufacturing of Elgin watches took place at their facility in Elgin, Illinois.

This Elgin timepiece was crafted in Elgin, Illinois, and completed in 1934. It houses Elgin's proprietary 15-jewel Grade 315 movement, a reliable workhorse produced from 1904 to 1940. The movement showcases 15 jewels, intricately decorated ratchet and crown wheels, and stunning damaskeening. Movement components were carefully refinished with stylish blue accents on the screws and hardware using precise hand-thermal treatment, a traditional watchmaking technique. The brass jewel settings were polished by hand to restore their original golden luster. The watch hands remain unrestored in their original golden color, as applied by Elgin at the time of manufacture. The Elgin dial, made of porcelain enamel, features one-of-a-kind applied golden indices and motifs. These elements were affixed to the dial and then fired during the enamel baking process. This dial style is nearly impossible to find, and those that do exist are almost always damaged. This example is absolutely pristine, void of chips or cracks, representing the top 1% of all known examples.

The timepiece is encased in a 316L stainless steel wristwatch conversion case, designed with adjustable lugs for easy winding and setting, ensuring a comfortable fit across various wrist sizes. The case includes front, back, and crown gaskets, providing water resistance up to 50 meters, though it is recommended to remove the watch before engaging in water activities. The timepiece comes fully serviced and ready for your next adventure. Because of our dedication to preserving history, the original pocket watch case will be included as well.
