Hamilton Watch Co. was in operation from 1892-1969 and manufactured some of the highest end, most accurate watches ever produced. Manufacturing of Hamilton watches took place at their facility in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
This Hamilton timepiece was crafted in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and completed in 1937. Powered by the 921 grade movement—a 21-jewel in-house movement produced between 1936 and 1954—this watch represents Hamilton's precision craftsmanship during a critical time in history. While components of the 921 movement were designed to be antimagnetic with low iron content, this specific example is not antimagnetic due to its blued steel hairspring, which is typical of pre-1940s examples. As a result, this particular 921 is suitable for thermal coloring, and its movement hardware has been meticulously thermally colored by hand using traditional watchmaker techniques. The watch hands remain in their original golden color and have not been restored. The dial is also in near flawless condition, with golden indices that sparkle in the light, offering a glimpse into the elegance and durability of watches made in the United States during one of the most pivotal eras of the 20th century.
The timepiece is housed in a new 316L stainless steel conversion case, designed with adjustable lugs for easy winding and setting, ensuring a comfortable fit across various wrist sizes. The case is equipped with front, back, and crown gaskets, providing water resistance up to 50 meters, although we recommend removing the watch before water activities. The watch is fully serviced and ready for your upcoming adventures.
