Illinois Watch Co. was in operation from 1869-1948 and produced some of the most renowned railroad-grade movements ever manufactured. Watches were produced in their factory in Springfield, Illinois.
This Illinois timepiece was manufactured in Springfield, Illinois, and was finished in 1921. The watch is powered by the iconic A Lincoln grade movement, which is a 21 jewel Illinois in-house movement that was produced between 1907-1928. The movement is in exceptional condition with beautiful striped damaskeening. The movement has been refinished with blue accents that were added using thermal coloring, a traditional watchmaker technique that was completed to color iron based watch parts. The hands of the watch had been not been restored and are in their original golden color with beautiful patina. The Illinois dial has a beautiful golden guilloche motif at the center and also matches the patina of the hands.
The timepiece is housed in a new silver-colored wristwatch conversion case designed with adjustable lugs for ease in winding and setting and to allow for a more tailored fit across various wrist sizes. The case, featuring front, back, and crown gaskets, provides water resistance up to 50 meters, although it is advisable to remove the watch before engaging in water activities. The watch is fully serviced and ready for your upcoming adventures. Because of our dedication to preserving history, the original 14 karat gold filled pocket watch case will be included as well.
