Illinois Watch Co. was in operation from 1869-1948 and produced some of the most renowned railroad-grade movements ever manufactured. Watches were produced in their factory in Springfield, Illinois.
This timepiece, produced in Springfield, Illinois in 1923, is powered by the 405 grade movement—a 17-jewel Illinois in-house mechanism manufactured between 1911 and 1929. The movement is decorated with radiant damaskeening and features a bridge plate design so the entire gear train is on display. The golden movement accents are original and were added by Illinois when the watch was manufactured in 1923. The watch hands remain un-restored in their original heat blue finish. The metal Illinois dial features a sunburst guilloche pattern that reflects light in different directions depending on how it strikes the surface. This creates a captivating effect when checking the time, making the dial visually striking and a true delight to admire.
The timepiece is encased in a 316L stainless steel pocket watch conversion case, designed with adjustable lugs for easy winding and setting, ensuring a comfortable fit across various wrist sizes. The case includes front, back, and crown gaskets, providing water resistance up to 50 meters, though it is recommended to remove the watch before engaging in water activities. The timepiece comes fully serviced and ready for your future adventures.
