Illinois Watch Co. was in operation from 1869-1948 and produced some of the most renowned railroad-grade movements ever manufactured. Watches were produced in their factory in Springfield, Illinois.
This Illinois timepiece, crafted in Springfield, Illinois, was completed in 1923. It houses the renowned 405-grade movement, a 17-jewel in-house caliber produced by Illinois from 1913 to 1926. Every movement component has been meticulously refinished, with elegant blue accents on the screws and hardware, achieved through precise hand-thermal treatment using traditional watchmaking techniques. The jewel settings, gear train, balance, and balance weights were individually hand-polished, restoring their original golden luster and sheen. The watch hands remain in their original golden color, untouched by restoration. The Illinois dial is truly one of a kind, featuring a black finish with golden numerals and indices. The golden hands provide striking contrast against the black dial, ensuring a visually captivating time-checking experience.
The timepiece is encased in a 316L stainless steel pocket watch conversion case, designed with adjustable lugs for easy winding and setting, ensuring a comfortable fit across various wrist sizes. The case includes front, back, and crown gaskets, providing water resistance up to 50 meters, though it is recommended to remove the watch before engaging in water activities. The timepiece comes fully serviced and ready for your future adventures.
