Illinois Watch Co. was in operation from 1869-1948 and produced some of the most renowned railroad-grade movements ever manufactured. Watches were produced in their factory in Springfield, Illinois.

This Illinois timepiece was crafted in Springfield, Illinois, in 1921. It features the renowned 406-grade movement, a 19-jewel in-house movement produced by Illinois from 1913 to 1926. The movement has been meticulously restored and serviced, with special care taken to preserve the original striped damaskeening and the brilliance of the brass jewel settings. The movement components remain unrestored, retaining their original golden accents added by Illinois at the time of manufacture. The watch hands have not been restored and remain in their original heat-blued color. The metal Illinois dial showcases bold Arabic numerals, with a circular guilloché motif carved into the surface. The sub-seconds dial is stunning and prominent. This metal dial is in the top 5% of all metal dials we have seen.

The timepiece is encased in a 316L stainless steel watch conversion case, designed with adjustable lugs for easy winding and setting, ensuring a comfortable fit across various wrist sizes. The case includes front, back, and crown gaskets, providing water resistance up to 50 meters, though it is recommended to remove the watch before engaging in water activities. The timepiece comes fully serviced and ready for your future adventures. Because of our dedication to preserving American watchmaking history, the original pocket watch case will be included as well.
