Rockford Watch Co. was in operation from 1873-1915 and was an American pocket watch manufacturer. Manufacturing of Rockford watches took place at their facility in Rockford, Illinois.
This Rockford timepiece was manufactured in Rockford, Illinois, and completed in 1908. Unlike many other American watchmakers, Rockford was in business for a relatively short time, making their pieces exceptionally rare and highly sought after. This remarkable watch is powered by Rockford’s in-house Grade 325 movement, produced between 1908 and 1913. During the manufacturing of this grade, only 2,600 units were produced, making this an exceptionally rare example. The movement is in excellent condition, showcasing a beautiful striped pattern and featuring a three-finger bridge, allowing the intricate gears to be on full display. The ratchet and crown wheels sport a stunning fan-like pattern, pulling in elements from aviation design. Adding to its uniqueness, the movement has been custom refinished with deep blue accents, including the screws, created through the precise art of hand thermal treatment. This process imparts a stunning blue hue to the iron-based components, enhancing the movement's visual appeal. The hands of the watch have been restored using the same thermal treatment process. The Rockford dial, made of porcelain enamel with Arabic numerals, is in excellent condition, further elevating the watch's elegance.
The timepiece is encased in a 316L stainless steel wristwatch conversion case, designed with adjustable lugs for easy winding and setting, ensuring a comfortable fit across various wrist sizes. The case includes front, back, and crown gaskets, providing water resistance up to 50 meters, though it is recommended to remove the watch before engaging in water activities. The timepiece comes fully serviced and ready for your future adventures. Because of our dedication to preserving history, the original pocket watch case will be included as well.
