American Waltham Watch Co. was in operation from 1852-1957 and was an American pocket watch manufacturer. Manufacturing of Waltham watches took place at their facility in Waltham, Massachusetts.
Crafted in Waltham, Massachusetts, and completed in 1896, this Waltham timepiece features the Riverside (Model 1894) movement—a 17-jewel, in-house Waltham workhorse produced between 1895 and 1922. The movement has been fully restored and refinished, with stylish blue accents added to the screws and movement hardware achieved by hand using thermal coloring—a traditional watchmaking technique to provide corrosion protection and improve aesthetics. The watch hands are in their original condition and have not been restored, just as Waltham finished them at the time of manufacture. The Waltham dial is porcelain enamel and in flawless condition, free of chips and cracks—a testament to the robust craftsmanship of a dial crafted in the 1800s. The heat-blued hands contrast brilliantly against the white porcelain-enamel dial, making time-checking a visual delight.
The timepiece is encased in a 316L stainless steel wristwatch conversion case, designed with adjustable lugs for easy winding and setting, ensuring a comfortable fit across various wrist sizes. The case includes front, back, and crown gaskets, providing water resistance up to 50 meters, though it is recommended to remove the watch before engaging in water activities. The timepiece comes fully serviced and ready for your next adventure.
