The Burlington Watch Co. was a subsidiary of the Illinois Watch Co., which was in operation from 1869-1948 and produced some of the best railroad-grade movements ever manufactured. Burlington watches were produced by Illinois in their factory in Springfield, Illinois and the company was headquartered in Chicago, Illinois.

This WWI-era Burlington watch, crafted in Springfield, Illinois, was completed in 1916. It features a 21-jewel movement produced between 1913 and 1929 in collaboration with the Illinois Watch Company. The movement is in excellent condition and has been refinished with striking blue accents through traditional thermal heating techniques. The jewel settings, balance, balance weights, and gear train have all been restored to their original golden hue, while the watch plates have been carefully returned to their silver finish. The hands remain untouched in their original heat-blued condition, preserving their historical authenticity. The porcelain-enamel dial is exceptional, showcasing bold Roman numerals and minute ticks along the perimeter. The dial is simple yet well-executed, with a clean, elegant presentation, while the heat-blued hands create a striking contrast against the crisp white dial.

The timepiece is housed in a new 316L stainless steel wristwatch conversion case, designed with adjustable lugs for easy winding and setting, ensuring a comfortable fit across various wrist sizes. The case is equipped with front, back, and crown gaskets, providing water resistance up to 50 meters, although we recommend removing the watch before water activities. The watch is fully serviced and ready for your upcoming adventures.
