Elgin National Watch Co. was in operation from 1864-1968 and was an American pocket watch manufacturer. Manufacturing of Elgin watches took place at their facility in Elgin, Illinois.
This Elgin timepiece was crafted in Elgin, Illinois, and completed in 1915. It houses Elgin's proprietary 17-jewel Grade 344 movement, a reliable workhorse produced from 1906 to 1928. The movement showcases 17 jewels, intricately decorated ratchet and crown wheels, and stunning damaskeening. Movement components were carefully refinished with stylish blue accents on the screws and hardware using precise hand-thermal treatment, a traditional watchmaking technique. The watch hands received similar restoration, and the brass jewel settings were cleaned to restore their original golden brilliance and luster. The Elgin dial, made of porcelain-enamel, features a striking golden motifs at the center and around the elegant Roman Numerals. The porcelain-enamel dial is near flawless and looks stunning.
The timepiece is encased in a 316L stainless steel wristwatch conversion case, designed with adjustable lugs for easy winding and setting, ensuring a comfortable fit across various wrist sizes. The case includes front, back, and crown gaskets, providing water resistance up to 50 meters, though it is recommended to remove the watch before engaging in water activities. The timepiece comes fully serviced and ready for your next adventure. Because of our dedication to preserving history, the original 14 karat gold filled case will be included as well.
