Hampden Watch Co. was in operation from 1877-1927 and was an American pocket watch manufacturer. Manufacturing of Hampden watches took place at their facility in Canton, Ohio.

This 1916 Hampden timepiece, crafted in Canton, Ohio, during the height of World War I, is powered by the renowned 17-jewel Minute Man grade movement, a hallmark of early 20th-century Hampden craftsmanship. The name "Minute Man" draws inspiration from the Revolutionary War soldiers who stood ready at a moment’s notice to defend their nation, symbolizing vigilance, resilience, and patriotism—qualities deeply resonant during the era of World War I when this timepiece was manufactured. The movement has been meticulously restored and custom refinished with vibrant blue accents, achieved through hand-applied thermal coloring of the iron-based components, while the original heat-blue hands remain untouched, preserving their authentic charm. Its metal dial, in excellent condition, features a stunning gilt finish with intricate guilloche detailing, offering a mesmerizing play of light and texture. This historically significant timepiece not only honors American ingenuity but also reflects the spirit of perseverance and pride during a pivotal moment in history, making it an extraordinary addition to any vintage watch collection.

The timepiece is encased in a 316L stainless steel wristwatch conversion case, designed with adjustable lugs for ease in winding and setting, ensuring a tailored fit across various wrist sizes. The case includes front, back, and crown gaskets, providing water resistance up to 50 meters, though it is recommended to remove the watch before participating in water activities. The timepiece comes fully serviced and ready for your upcoming adventures. Because of our dedication to preserving history, the original 25 year gold filled pocket watch case will be included as well.
